Day 8...Kurimoto!

Meeting host families today

Day 8, Thursday 23rd June 2005.

Left Tokyo this morning for Kurimoto town and to go to Kurimoto Jnr High to meet our host students.

Went to the Council in Kurimoto for a welcome ceremony, was very cute!
The we arrived at Kurimoto school where me and paige and the rest of the students met their hosts.
Paige and i are staying with a girl Maya, we think she is a tom boy but a really really nice girl!! We also met her family this afternoon, she has 3 brothers 2 are married with children and are all really nice people... her brothers are all good looking! hehe

Dinner was a bit of a culture shock for me and paige, we ate raw prawns, and other kinda of fish and other meat, we hadnt tryed it untill tonight though im really glad we did because it didnt taste as bad as i imagined!

A family friend came over for dinner also to meet me and paige. We then sat up for hours talking... well trying to talking since we couldnt really understand each other.. i tested out my japanese and they tested out their english and if worst came to worst we just played charades and acted out what we were trying to say! was so fun and an absolute crack up!!

The brothers also bought fire works and we spent time out in the yard playing with them it was fun! and then when we ran out they took us out shopping for more in the middle of the night!

Ended up going to bed quite late though i could have stayed up all night!

Was an awsome day, im so lucky to have ended up with such an awsome host family!

will add pictures soon! i need to put them on to my computer!
